Caroline A. Walker is a member of the Silvermine Artists Guild, in New Canaan, CT, where she takes classes and exhibits works in their annual juried student art show. She has been enrolled in David Dunlop’s Advanced Landscape class at Silvermine for many years and participated in his Maine plein air workshop in 2013. In addition, she studies with Andrew Lattimore in his atelier in Cornwall, NY and frequently paints plein air under his instruction at Stone Barns, in Pocantico Hills, at Wethersfield in Amenia, New York, and in the Hudson Highlands. Formerly, she took classes with the landscape painter John Phillip Osborne, both plein air on Nantucket and in his studio at the Ridgewood Art Institute in New Jersey.
She has also taken several plein air workshops with Donald Jurney, at locations near Newburyport, Massachusetts and, during the summer of 2014, in northern Holland. A proponent of the joys of painting outdoors, she is a member of the Lower Hudson Valley Chapter of New York Plein Air Painters and of the Fairfield County Plein Air Painters Association. She is also a member of the Artists Association of Nantucket where she has taken plein air classes with Ken Layman and Amy Chuckrow, and participates in their annual paint out competition. During the winter when it is more difficult to paint outside, she paints still lives.
